
Julia Damore is a lyric coloratura soprano with 14 years of performance experience. She has competed and placed in several voice competitions including 1st and 3rd place in the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition and a semifinalist in the Orpheus Vocal competition. Julia has performed roles in several operas including Edith in "The Pirates of Penzance", Lucia in "Gasparone", Angelica in Puccini's "Suor Angelica", Papagena and the second spirit in "Die Zauberflöte", and Frasquita in "Carmen". She is also an accomplished concert soloist performing works such as Haydn’s "The Creation" as Eve.
Julia has studied under teachers and directors such as vocal pedagogue Dr. Sharon Mabry, professional German opera singer Stephan Boving, director and pianist Stefan Ruetter, Manhattan School of Music’s collaborative pianist Warren Jones, and opera directors Joshua May and Paul Houghtaling. Julia also sings locally with the Nashville Symphony Chorus, Opera on Tap Nashville, and churches in the area. She has a Bachelor of Music degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN and a Master of Music degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. Julia currently teaches private voice at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Julia has taught voice lessons and master classes at several institutions during her teaching career including Cumberland University, Tennessee State University, Austin Peay State University, and Melody Music Inc. She is passionate about teaching and encouraging the next generation of singers to reach their full potential.
